Michelle K. Szymanski and Mark E. Bailey exchanged their wedding vows May 16 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Alpena. Father Patrick Maher officiated the 1 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Sue Szymanski of Alpena. The groom is the son of Mark and Karen Bailey of Mt. Pleasant.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was the groom's sister, Tracey DeFeyter. Bridesmaids were Alicia Zolnierek, cousin of the bride, and Alexis DeFeyter, niece of the groom. Attending the groom as best man was his cousin, Matthew Rood. Groomsmen were William Clark, friend of the groom, and Kevin Szymanski, brother of the bride. Serving as reader and hostess was Melissa McDonald. Jason DeFeyter, brother-in-law of the groom, was an usher.
Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at St. Anne Parish Center.
Michelle is a 2006 graduate of Central Michigan University with a bachelor's degree of applied arts. She is employed by the Boys and Girls Club of Alpena as program director. Mark is a 2001 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Public Schools and is employed by Paxton Resources.
The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Punta Cana. They are residing in Alpena.
