CAREY, Maurice Calvin, 88, of Atlanta died Monday, August 3, 2009, at his home.

He is survived by children, Shelia (John) Stone of Atlanta, Valerie (Robert) Girdwood of Dansville, and Ross (Theresa) Carey of Traverse City; grandchildren, Paul, Charles, Kyle, Sara, Matthew, Neil, Spencer, and Elizabeth; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Gates (Bernice) of East Jordan; and sisters, Naomi Shepard of East Jordan, and Jeanette (Harold) Grove of West Branch.

Visitation will be held at Big Rock Congregational Church from 2 p.m.-8p.m. on Wednesday. The funeral will also be at the church at 2 p.m. on Thursday preceded by one hour of visitation. Interment will be in Briley Township Cemetery.
