Jennifer Szydlowski and Brett Werda exchanged their wedding vows May 16 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpena. Father Greg McCallum officiated the 1 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Cindy Szydlowski of 2762 S. Third, Alpena. The groom is the son of Mark and Lori Werda of 1261 Ferncliff, Alpena.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her cousin, Alecia Diemond. Serving as a bridesmaid was Chelsea Engle. Attending the groom as best man was his friend, Thomas LeTourneau. Serving as a groomsman was the bride's brother, Jeremy Szydlowski. The flower girl and ring bearer were Rylie Hana and Ethan Hana, cousins. Seating guests were ushers Brad Cousineau and Chris Engle.
Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Alpena. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at JJ's Steak and Pizza.
Jennifer has an associate's degree as a certified medical assistant and is employed at Little Traverse Bay Family Medicine in Petoskey. Brett has an associate's degree in concrete technology and is employed at Northwest Design Group in Petoskey.
