Darwin and Sandra Ristow of 1273 Partridge Point Road, Alpena, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 28 in Bradenton, Fla., with family and friends. They also celebrated their anniversary with seven other couples at a Feb. 8 reception at Sugar Creek Resort where they spend their winters in Bradenton.
Mr. Ristow and the former Sandra Jacobs were married March 28, 1959, at Ripley Blvd. Baptist Church in Alpena. Their children are Susan (Eric) Fairchild of Bradenton; John of Miami Beach, Fla.; Catherine of Alpena; Ruth Anne of Clermont, Fla.; and Anne Marie (Stephan) Rushton of Bradenton.
The couple's grandchildren include Tyler Ristow of Austin, Texas; Sierra Ristow of Third Lake, Ill.; Logan Fairchild of Bradenton; Latoya Ristow of Bradenton, Olivia and Reegan Juola of Bradenton.
Darwin practiced as an optometrist for 42 years. Sandra worked as an LPN at the hospital and in home care nursing. She was working with Darwin as office manager when they both retired almost three years ago.
