Davis 40th anniversary

Curt and Shari Davis celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary April 12 with an Easter/Thanksgiving dinner with their long-time friends, Lynn and Shauna Field.

The couple was married at Grace United Methodist Church in Hicksville, Ohio. They have two children, Matt Davis of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Ginger Davis of Cape Canaveral, Fla.

Curt Davis and Shari Mohr first met at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. They lived and worked in Germany and Ohio before moving to Alpena, where they have made their home for more than 24 years. Curt is the retired vice president of Alpena Community College. Shari taught elementary school at several area schools, including Besser Elementary, Maple Ridge and Sunset.

The couple are retired but still remain busy. They enjoy skiing, kayaking, biking and traveling. Curt and Shari are active members of First Congregational United Church of Christ and have volunteered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Curt is a member of the Besser Male Chorus and Shari lends her voice to the church choir.
