John and Pat Marchlewski celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 27, 2008, by having their marriage blessed by Father Greg McCallum at the 4 p.m. mass at St. Mary Catholic Church.
A dinner followed at the 19th Hole hosted by their children, Linda (Rich) DiCesare of Grandville, Pat (Mark) Harps of El Paso, Texas, John Jr. (Jay) of Alpena, Len (Lee Ann) of Comstock Park, Tom (Laura) of Rockford and Brad (Julie) of Battle Creek. Also present was Leo (Carol) Marchlewski, a member of the original wedding party.
John married the former Patricia Simpson at St. Mary Catholic Church in Cheboygan on Dec. 27, 1958. They also have 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
