Ashley Anne Frantz and Matthew Aloysius Burg exchanged their wedding vows July 19, 2008, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alpena. Father Patrick Maher officiated the 1 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Debora Frantz of Alpena. The groom is the son of Jeffrey and Louise Burg, and Randy and Peggy Donakowski, all of Alpena.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her friend, Stacy Ohlrich. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Bracke, friend of the bride; Sarah Burg, sister of the groom; Nicole Earley and Kendra Randolph, friends of the bride. Attending the groom as best man was his friend, Brad Schiellerd. Groomsmen were Andrew Burg and Jim Rynes, brothers of the groom; Trevor Frantz, brother of the bride; and Aaron Tallman, friend of the groom. Ushers included Preston Donakowski, brother of the groom, and Travis Wyman, cousin of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at the Thunder Bay Recreational Center in Alpena. Pre-nuptial parties included a rehearsal dinner at the Cork and Olive in Alpena.
Ashley is a 1999 graduate of Alpena High School and a 2004 graduate of Grand Valley State University with a bachelor of science degree. She is pursuing a master of education degree in reading/language arts from Grand Valley State University and is currently employed by Perry Public Schools as a fourth grade teacher. Matthew is a 1999 graduate of Alpena High School and a 2004 graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor of science degree in microbiology. He is currently employed by Emergent Biosolutions.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. They are residing in Okemos.
