Melvin and Elaine Kurtz of Venice, Fla., celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Dec. 9 with a dinner party and theater production at the Asolo in Sarasota.
The couple's children are Christine and Charles. They also have five grandchildren: Angela Gruschke of Newport, R.I.; Conrad (Tamara) of Browns Mills, N.J.; Amy and twins Matthew and Hannah Kurtz of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.
Charles' wife, Laura, and Rex Allen were also there for the celebration.

Melvin and Elaine, with partners John and Carolyn VanSchoick, built and ran the original KurVan Bait and Tackle on US-23-N for more than 20 years. They have lived full-time in Florida since 1975.
