Evidence of a ghost in residence at the John A. Lau Saloon will be shared in full at a special dinner Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the restaurant.
The evening will be hosted by Kathleen Tedsen and Beverlee Rydel, authors of the just-released book, "Haunted Travels of Michigan," and by Matt and Melanie Moyer, founders of Mid-Michigan Paranormal Investigators in Grayling. The Moyers did an investigation last fall of purported ghost activity at the John A. Lau, while Tedsen and Rydel have included the historic establishment in their new book.
Both authors will tell the story of the Lau family and other events that may have shaped the supernatural activities at the restaurant. They also will share their experiences while participating in the paranormal investigation.
The Moyers will then explain to those gathered for the dinner, the process of planning the investigation and the equipment used. Additionally, they will reveal other evidence uncovered. The evening will conclude with a group ghost hunt/tour led by Mid-Michigan. Guests are welcome to bring audio recorders and hand-held cameras.
Cost for the evening is $45 per person or $75 per couple. The event includes a four-course meal and copies of the new book, which uniquely allows readers to go online and see up-close photographic and/or video evidence and listen to behind-the-scenes activities.
The authors will be signing copies of "Haunted Travels of Michigan" before and after the event. Additional books will be available for purchase at $15 each.
Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the John A. Lau at 354-6898. For more information about the authors, go to www.hauntedtravelsmvg.com. For more information about Mid-Michigan Paranormal Investigators, go to www.midmipi.com.
