There are many missing pieces to this wind developers puzzle.

First, MI wind energy costs 2.5x what can be purchased from IA. Thus ratepayers will take a beating with every spin of the rotor.

Secondly, MI's renewable energy law violates the Commerce Clause. Thus the State can no longer force wind generation to be constructed inside the State.

Finally, both DTE and CMS have enough wind projects in the pipeline to fulfill their 10% commitment by 2015. There is no need for this project, especially when replacing coal generation with gas reduces far more emissions at a much lower cost.

This is just one more carpet bagger developer trying to strip mine the US Treasury.
