While I don't disagree with the idea of a plaza, I think the proposed location is just a horrible idea. I wanted to go to some businesses near 2nd and Chisholm last Friday afternoon. I had to circle the downtown area twice and finally found a parking spot on the street by the Dry Dock. The lot behind the Owl was full, the streets were full. How much do you have to spend on studies to figure out that the loss of all that parking will be devastating to downtown businesses? Not only will you be displacing all the employees and patrons of the businesses, you will also need parking for the droves of people you expect the plaza to bring.

Yes, the location is WRONG. There is a site ON THE RIVER, right across the street, close to senior citizens, and across from the (closed) Sanctuary. The parking lot is needed, and could be improved in conjunction with the proposed Plaza. The River is a great asset and the previous proposed housing has not occurred. Make sense people. And ignore that guy in the tinfoil hat screeching Agenda 21!
