That's what we have the coast guard for. If they think the fee was expensive, wait until it needs routine maintenance and so on.

If you need a fee boat, you can't afford to have a boat. Pretty simple. I could buy a mercedes, but can't afford the insurance, taxes, and maintenance/parts and so on.

They need to stick to land and the jail. I don't see why they want to be out on the lake. There has been nno trouble out there.

Oh yes, that way not only will the Coast Guard still be wanting to stop and board your/my boat, the Sheriff will as well. In between all the boarding, equipment checks etc. you might be able to cast out a line, take a relaxing tour, or a dive, without being messed with...much.

I've been boarded by the Coast Guard in Thunder Bay three times in one summer season before. On inland lakes Fish and Game wants to bother me with regularity too. It makes me want to choose another body of water, perhaps the bathtub in my fishing cabin, or the drainage ditch in front of my house. Good grief, leave me alone, somewhere, anywhere!

A 25 foot Defender Class boat sports dual 200 HP outboards right, possibly larger?

What will it run on? Smart-metered water or $4.00 per gallon gasoline? Probably the latter.

No, as the other poster rightly put it...you can't afford it...but you don't care, it's not your money is it? Which brings us to government's big problem across the board.

It's not their money and they want to micromanage our "freedom".

Micromanaging freedom. An "oxy" managed by "morons".

Pssst. Leave us alone.

I could easily buy the new Vette and pay the 50% Engler sales tax increase (republicans say they won't raise taxes then raise taxes) but can't afford the $27 million insurance company CEO. I'd bet we more than doubled police presense and their toys since 1970 for a population decrease. It would be nice to have a boat for 2nd Ave bridge bungie jumpers too. Maybe it's time to "just say no".

So why doesn't Beneshek help the Sheriff? Bene ran down here fast enough to help Carmeuse and LaFarge on the Sanctuary expansion. Political contributions work wonders I guess.

Bennie knows that the sherif does not belong on the big water or other water. Big waste of money.
