What kind of human would insinuate that this poor guy deserved what happend to him? Nobody deserves that. Remember booze use to be illegal as well so don't look down your nose at people with a self righteous attitude just because they make different choices in life. There are three teens that according to their records needed some discipline WAY before they got it and the only thing you can comment on is the fact that the guy is a victim and a criminal both. Inhuman.

Tying up and beating a medical marijuana patient? If they trashed his place, stole his money, smashed his grow equipment, cut down his medical plants, it could be hunt! shredder

A victim, Amos, plain for all to see. I'm glad to see attempted murder was included in the charges.

Aside from the crime involving these youths from 'our town', one must wonder how it came to this. Lack of parenting I suspect, as it appears these boys had prior problems with the law. Parents who fail their children should be held accountable. I wish to hear 'the rest of the story on these wayward youth. The Alpena News owes us the whole story. Times are hard nowadays, and crimes like this are more and more prevalent, and is disturbing.

This may have been lack of parenting for some, but for one it leads from a life of as a troubled kid. One WAS on medicine, and going to counseling. Because of certain issues with a parent this young adult fell into a doomed state with people he should have never hung around with, and as a parent you can not control what your child does once they are also considered an adult. This is a sad story yes, and I DO not agree with what these young adults did. It is a sad case for sure. YES there is more to this story. And I am sure it will come out sooner or later. I'm sure these guys will end up in Jail or Prison one of the two. BUT, You can't always blame the parents until you know the whole story.

tinman..I didn't insinuate, I asked and said nothing about anyone "deserving" anything. You just made that all up. The medical pot laws are very hard to follow without breaking and could make anyone a criminal. At one time it was illegal for an uncertified person to see a patient's plant so if happened then the patient is a criminal. I didn't make the law, so blame those who did. Marijuans should be treated like tobbacco and alcohol.

norm..Since I don't know what behaviors a troglodyte exhibits I can comfirm or deny your assertation.

"The behaviors you exhibit at any moment are under the control of your current setting." If you avoid having alcohol and thugs in your setting then you are more likely to avoid jail or a beating. Because of chance this could happen to a teen with the best parents in the world. If the rich keep getting richer and the poor poorer we can expect more crime.

Amos, let's get real. Just how are kids supposed to avoid drugs when the two most likely to be abused are legal, and are being pushed by adults. Alcohol and prescription drugs, and after their hooked on prescrition drugs that no republican will limit in any way, lest they offend big bussines, then they turn to cheaper drugs like ******. And were supposed to blame who exactly? Parents? Kids? We all need to look in the mirror. shredder

Shredd..I face reality every time I light up (cough). Kids can't avoid drugs. The federal communications commision bans advertisment of tobacco on television but not alcohol. You can blame Americans for that. Humans enjoy a change of conciousness and nothing will change that.
