At least you got "smart meters" connected to everyone's house first, you know, so the water flowing through those 1905 pipes isn't so darn dumb.

Can't say the same for Alpena's decision makers though can we? Are there some smart meters shaped like hats that can be fitted to those folks?

The "old" meters were no doubt better than the 108 yr. old pipes. Right?

Will one of those smart meters cap a major catastrophic failure? Will one of those smart meters rejuvenate any of those 108 yr. old pipes? No?

Who cares? The meters are smart. They're computerized. Don't worry about raw sewage or your drinking/bathing water. Be proud of your meter, even though when they were voted on, "the people" were promised no major rate increases. That's what ya' call a big fat lie regarding the "smart" meters, directed at overly-gullible voters.

Oh well, in related news, even though Johnny's piston rings are so shot he uses as much oil as he does gas, what he really needs for that tired old buggy is a new stereo/CD/memory stick accepting stereo, with really great speakers. Sometimes it takes the tow truck a long time to arrive...one should have some really sweet tunes to make the wait much more pleasant.

Yep, priorities people. That's usin' your noggin' for something more than a Christmas drink.

Those 'smart'meters are an Agenda 21 installation, where your every thought can be recorded and used against YOU. That is smart!

Gee, that $1.5 Million they spent(wasted)on installing the new water meters would have went a long way on capital improvements.

See, when America was running surpluses, the money was going to be used for infrastructure improvements. Republicans thought surpluses were bad ideas, so they gave the money to Mitt Romney, who sent it to Switzerland. Will we ever function as a Union again, or will it be every man for himself? Problem with the latter is I don't have enough money to fix my sewer pipes.

Jax: If you're going to lie your butt-bone off, couldn't you at least make it sound real instead of so freakin' stupid?

Have you no prevaricating pride?
