They should have gone much harsher on this idiot. It's sad that he got by with such a minimal punishment. What a loser.

I would be less concerned about Mr. Putnam 'screwing up his life' that the lives of people he busted for a victimless crime.

The results seem reasonable but the ban as a police officer should be nationwide. Screwing up your life for $1,200 is really stupid.

NormanLake, the prosecutor can sleep at night because he has no conscience, and no fear of being held accountable by a corrupt court.....shredder

This proves the court system in Alpena is corrupt. Over and over this court protects court officers and poice officials. And BTW this is only one reason they have been thrown out of some counties....shredder

Mr. Putnam will show up in some other state to continue his 'service' to the people. I would like to know how the prosecutor can look in the mirror, or sleep at night.

What a joke, these persons who pledge to 'protect and serve' should be held to a higher standard. Read the Alpena News on Saturday, and see what some young person pays the State for simple possession of small amounts of marihuana. Again, a (big) joke. This is not justice, rather protecting the elites.
