| | Leprechauns and Mother NatureMarch 18, 2008 - Bill SpeerIt arrived today. What, you ask, arrived Tuesday. The annual St. Patty's Day blow, of course. Isn't it amazing that almost like clockwork year in and year out Mother Nature always obliges and fulfills the warped sense of humor she possesses by sending our way a reminder that winter isn't over until she says it's over. Today's weather was depressing with the gray skies, snow, sleet, ice pellets and wind. And they call this spring break in Alpena this week? Good thing, as who knows whether there would have been school or not. Schools districts to the west canceled classes today. If there is a silver lining to this story, it also is a truth that with the St. Patty's blow historically speaking, the worse of the winter now is behind and weather patterns should begin shifting. So be it. I, for one, am not looking forward to heading to Easter services this weekend in snowshoes. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article.
