Variety is the spice of life

March 6, 2008 - Diane Speer
It's been said that variety is the spice of life. A glance at my calendar for Friday convinces me there is some definite validity to that saying. In and around getting my daily Lifestyles page out for Monday, I have to be across the street at Alpena County Library at 10:30 a.m. to grab a quick photo for an Alzheimer's Association-related story. The group is donating a children's book not only to the library but also to all elementary schools in the area. The beautifully done book helps to describe and explain what happens to loved ones with Alzheimer's disease.

Next it's off to the Alpena Plaza Pool at 11:30 a.m. for another photograph, this one to go with a story about a group of fitness-minded individuals who have commited to swimming 100 miles. I've been trying to get this story and photo together for several weeks now, and it looks like Friday may finally be the day.

Then in the afternoon, I'll be stopping by the new Restore headquarters on Chisholm Street. Refuribishing of the space is currently in full gear, with plans to open tentatively set for April. So as you can see, there's a bit of variety in store for me come tomorrow. I have to say, the spice of it all is one of the things that makes this job so enjoyable!
