The tattooed president

April 24, 2013 - Steve Murch
You can accuse President Obama of a lot of things — and people have done just that — but he can't be accused of not having a sense of humor, even when he's probably being serious.

During an interview on the Today show, Obama said he has told his daughters that if they got a tattoo then he and the first lady, Michelle, would get tattoos too. And his point was he'd do it to embarrass the girls, which when you take into account that Malia is 14 and Sasha is 11, would be just about anything their dad would do even if he wasn't POTUS (President of the United States).

Obama told Today that if the girls got a tattoo that he and Michelle would get the same tattoo in the same place and put it on YouTube as a “family tattoo.” While the girls could try and call his bluff and do it, chances are they'd still be more embarrassed than he would be. Teenagers tend to be embarrassed by anything their parents do, so they probably don't want to risk it.

You have to like it when our presidents show their human side and give us a glimpse of their family life. Of course they can't show us too much, and we probably wouldn't want to see it anyway. We don't really want to know that much about our neighbors — a little can go a long way.

From a short distance tattooes look like a bruise. Injured humans are less likely to attract a mate so it's fine with me if men have ink blotches all over their face.

Not women. Having a tattoo is like wearing the same blouse every day for the rest of your life. I hate blue blobs messing up the sceenery.
