Are you feeling presidential this President's Week?
Here are some fascinating presidential facts I came across from Jeff Crilley of Real News PR. He's an interesting guy with a lot of great information that I read daily. These are facts he gathered from "The Smithsonian Book of Presidential Trivia."
The only commander-in-chief never to marry was James Buchanan, whose fiance broke off their engagement after a fight, and then broke his heart when she apparently took her life. Warren G. Harding, who wore size 14 shoes, was the president with the biggest feet.
In 1841 the country had three presidents in the same calendar year. Martin Van Buren left office, William Henry Harrison took his place but died a month later and was succeeded by Vice President John Tyler.
Teddy Roosevelt was the first president with full-time Secret Service protection.
John Tyler had 15 children by two wives.
Jackie Kennedy won an honorary Emmy for her televised White House tour delivered in that unforgettable breathless voice.
Laura Bush was the first woman to give the presidential radio address. She subbed for her husband and slammed the Taliban for oppressing women and children in Afghanistan.
