Remember when then-Gov. Jennifer Granholm went to Japan, Germany, etc., to try and bring back jobs to Michigan? Though she was somewhat successful — and its hard to measure that kind of success in the short term — she was vilified by some for, in their words, spending money the state didn't have and could be better spent.
Now Gov. Rick Snyder is making a similar trip and I don't know about you, but I haven't heard a single complaint about the trip. I find it hard to believe the same people have come to their senses about the significance of these trips.
It couldn't be that the complaints were made by people who just didn't like Granholm because she was a Democrat (or a woman for that matter), could it? People don't let party affiliation get in the way of possible progress, do they? We're above party politics and backstabbing and petty arguing for the better good in Michigan and this country, aren't we?
We aren't and they would? Oh, that explains a lot.
