| | Playoff projectionsSeptember 19, 2011 - Chris DobrowolskiI've referenced it in years past, but I noticed that the web site snooze2you.com has begun posting its weekly playoff football projection maps. It's really a handy and neat site that gives you a look into who might be in and what possible opponents they might have if the postseason were to start right now. Locally, they have three area teams in the playoffs — Hillman and Mio in Division 8, and Alcona in Division 7. Hillman would host Johannesburg-Lewiston in a playoff opener, which would be a rematch of a 2009 first-round game where Hillman was routed. Mio, which has faced Hillman twice in the last four playoffs, would be in an entirely different Division 8 region, hosting Coleman in a first-round game. Interestingly, Hillman has amassed a playoff average of 40.0, while Mio is at 39.1. Let's see how that compares to what happens on the field Friday night when the two teams square off in Hillman. Alcona is the other area team mapped out for the playoffs as of right now. The Tigers are projected for Division 7 and would host Whittemore-Prescott, a league foe Alcona is scheduled to meet three weeks from now.
