| | Farmer's almanacsJanuary 31, 2008 - Steve MurchAmong the many things sent to me in the past few months that people want reviews and/or promotions of are two different versions of the Farmer’s Almanac. Looking through them you can see many differences, but both make predictions and recommendations for planting, etc. One thing both do is make weather forecasts. The Old Farmer’s Almanac admitted that last year’s edition was the lowest it ever had in terms of proper prediction (I wonder if global warming had anything to do with it). Both almanacs predicted very cold weather, but both were a little early with it. I’ll give them half points for that. I’m not crazy about the forecasts they have for February, but then again I’m not a big winter person. The Old Farmer’s Almanac says lots of snow with a really cold snap toward the end of the month. The Farmer’s Almanac has many days with snow, but has the cold weather earlier in the month. Either way, it looks like several days of very cold weather coming. Nothing against those of you who like that kind of weather, but I hope both almanacs are wrong.
