A little arts inspiration

April 26, 2010 - Diane Speer

I spent most of my work day today in the stuffy confines of the office - at least until about 3 p.m. when  I temporarily "escaped" for an interview at  Alpena Community College. The weather outside was absolutely gorgeous, drenched in sunshine and warmth.

As if that wasn't inspiring enough, when I got to my interview destination at the Fine Arts Building, still more good vibes awaited me. Students and staff there were in the process of getting ready for the upcoming ACC Student Art Exhibit that will feature more than 500 pieces of student-generated art in a variety of mediums. I got to see some pretty amazing talent on display and talk with some pretty focused students who clearly love the opportunity they have been afforded to explore their creative side at ACC.

Ultimately, I had to return to the newspaper office, but when I got back it definitely was with a renewed outlook. Now others can seek a little arts inspiration of their own by stopping by the exhibit Friday, April 30 from 7-9 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building.
