If if was good enough for Rosie the Riveter back in World War II, it might just work again. Indeed, Uncle Sam - or in this case - Aunt Jennifer wants you!
Some will remember, others only will know from history lessons, the posters that helped communicate and navigate citizens through the Great Depression and then World War II. The posters not only provided an important means of communication and psychological inspiration but as art, they inspired the population as well.
The Detroit Institute of Arts hopes to inspire Michigan's residents all over again by starting a campaign called "Let's Save Michigan." Judging has begun on over 300 entries of posters aimed at offering our economically stressed state some inspiration.
