Christmas in Northeast Michigan
December 3, 2009 - Steve Murch
We kicked off our holiday series “Christmas in Northeast Michigan” in today's paper. We'll be telling the stories of the good and bad, as well as the highs and lows of the holiday season.
Many organizations are well known, but there are lesser known groups that do so much good during the holidays, and we will attempt to highlight some of those groups during the days leading up to Christmas. Today's story was about the Alcona St. Vincent de Paul, one of those organizations.
During these tough economic times many families are struggling to make ends meet. We will introduce you to some of those people who are trying to have a happy holiday in spite of their struggles. You will meet people who have formed new friendship under trying circumstances and you'll hear what the holidays mean to them.
Christmas means so many different things to so many people and we hope we can show you a view of what Christmas is like for people in Northeeast Michigan.
