This is no GI Joe!

September 10, 2008 - Bill Speer
I spoke to Alpena Lions this week and among the topics covered was the incredible interest being shown this year by the American public to the presidential race.

Statistics after both party's conventions reveals Americans tuned in in larger numbers to hear the acceptance speeches of both presidential candidates - as well as GOP VP Sarah Palin - than of the American Idol finale, the Academy Awards and the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics this summer. Three times in two weeks the American public turned on their television to listen to political speeches - amazing.

Or maybe not.

This week a company that probably now will experience sales they never dreamed possible - - introduced to the American public three action figure dolls of Palin. The dolls join ones already for John McCain and Barack Obama, although those guys only have one for the public to choose from. However, in fairness, they also have their images on Pez Headz and bean bags as well.

Palin joins a stable of popular dolls this company has produced in the past, including those of Hillary Clinton, George Bush, Dick Cheney and John Kerry.

I only wonder though today: Why no Joe Biden? What's up with that?
