Don’t turn Mich-e-ke-wis into an RV park

Please, please, please, help us save Mich-e-ke-wis. No RV Park.

We all enjoy it, have for years and the generations behind us will for years. We have no other beach where we can park, enjoy the lakes, sunrise, sunset, have picnic, enjoy swimming, walking, flying kites, playing ball, horseshoes, volleyball, canoeing, the playground, playing in the sand, or, for the older people to park and watch the young people enjoy themselves, or lots of other things.

It’s there for us, the city, township, county’s people from out of state and other parts of Michigan. Stop visit and see how beautiful it is an dhow lucky we are to have a place like this. I talked to lots of people.

Starlite is more of a kiddie’s park now. People who like a little space enjoy good old Mich-e-ke-wis.

Mr. Mike Paad and his wife Anna dedicated this to us lot owners in Padd addition in Oct. 24, 1934, for us and everyone to enjoy. There are still grandchildren, great-grandchildren and more of Mr. and Mrs. Paad still living in Paad addition. The will say the same and more.

In 2002 city didn’t want Mich-e-ke-wis, said it was junk and wetland. City neglected it. Same play equipment here that was there 70 years or more, and now wants to make RV there. What about the cost — electric, gas, sewers, water, etc.

Please don’t take our 4.5 acres. Selling it will go against the city’s future for grant efforts to give it TLC. Have RV at fairgrounds, put a pool in there or whatever it needs.

The city people and people adjacent to Mich-e-ke-wis have a lot of passion for Mich-e-ke-wis.
