Congratulations to Alpena News columnist Jackie Krawczak, who recently received an “Outstanding Young Michigander” award from the state Jaycees.

Krawczak, who serves as president/CEO of the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce, is a worthy recipient of the honor. During her tenure at the chamber she has helped grow the organization into a vital cornerstone of Alpena’s business community.

Seven others from around Michigan joined Krawczak in being honored by the Jaycees.

“I get up every day and just try to do better than I did the day before,” she said. “It is an honor to be recognized and humbling to be considered along with the other seven recipients. I’m proud of the things I’ve accomplished but always just consider it doing what needs to be done. Thank you, Jaycees for the added motivation and inspiration to continue.”

It was a fitting honor for one of Alpena’s rising stars.
