Thank veterans for their service and sacrifices

Thank a veteran today.

On this Veterans Day holiday, it is very appropriate to stop and remember the many reasons we have to honor those who are serving, or who have served, in our country’s armed services.

This morning, stop and thank a veteran for your being able to have gone to the polling place this week and cast a ballot.

This morning, stop and thank a veteran for, despite its many faults, we still live in the greatest country ever known to mankind.

This morning, stop and thank a veteran for being able to worship in a church, synagogue, temple or mosque of your choosing.

This morning, stop and thank a veteran for being able to speak without fear of censorship or to protest peacefully without fear of reprisal.

This morning, stop and thank a veteran for their willingness to spend holidays away from family, so you can spend time at home with yours.

This morning, stop and thank a veteran for all they have done to make all our lives better.

And then, once you have, say a prayer for them and their families. Pray for them peace and prosperity, health and happiness, contentment and courage.

Please, before the day gets away from you, thank a veteran today.
