Stephen George Adamski, 67, of Ossineke, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019. Steve was born on May 14, 1951 in Alpena to the late Howard “Speed” and Rita (LeBlanc) Adamski. He served in the United States Army and was very proud to have done so. Steve enjoyed many different things that northern Michigan had to offer, such as hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. He also enjoyed watching baseball, especially when it involved his son and grandson, or the Detroit Tigers. Steve was an avid pool player and participated for many years in local leagues and tournaments. He was considered a master “puzzler,” spending many Sundays putting puzzles together, and often would do so with those he considered special in his life. There were many things that Steve loved in life, however being around family and spending as much time as possible with his grandkids brought him the greatest joy.

He is survived by his two children, Shane Adamski and Stephanie (Ryan Styma) Adamski both of Alpena, grandchildren, Brody and Mya, a sister Ann Smith of Aurora, Ill., brothers Joe Adamski of Traverse City, and Bob (Patty) of Alpena, brother in-law Dan Tibbals, and several nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by a sister Mary Tibbals.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at McWilliams Funeral Home on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019 from noon until the time of memorial service at 3 p.m. Military honors will be accorded by VFW Post 2496 and the U.S. Army honor guard. Online condolences may be registered at
