FRANCES HELEN PRELL

Frances Helen Prell, 93, of Alpena passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Touch of Country AFC Home.

Frances Helen Kotwicki was born on Feb. 5, 1925, to the late Frank and Helen (Timmreck) Kotwicki. On July 6, 1942, she married the love of her life Wilbur Prell. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1993. Together they raised three sons and two daughters. Frances was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church of All Saints Parish where she devoted a number of years as the church sacristan, a job that was of utmost importance to her.

Surviving are children, Ronald (Kathy) Prell of Alpena, Michael (Charlotte) Prell of Millington, Aleta (Ted) Mitchell of Wisconsin, Jeanne (Perry) Phillips of Alpena, Gregory (Vaune) Prell of Herron. She was the proud, loving and caring grandmother of 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Prell was preceded in death by an infant son Robert Gregory in 1950; three brothers, Harry, George, Joseph Kotwicki and three sisters, Margaret Reedy, Genevieve LaCross and Gladys Smith.

Mrs. Prell is at the Bannan Funeral Home where visitation will take place on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday at St. Bernard Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Fitzpatrick officiating.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
