DELORES ELAINE HANSON

Delores Elaine Hanson, 85, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 23, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Delores was born May 6, 1933, to Murriel and Violet (Allen) Haltiner. She was a lifelong resident of Alpena. She attended the Practical Nursing Program in Traverse City. Delores married William Hanson on Aug. 1, 1953, at the First Church of God in Alpena and the two of them shared the blessing of nearly 65 years together spending their winters in Arizona. Delores loved spending time with her family and her dogs, camping, Swedish Weaving, cooking, baking, and canning.

Delores is survived by her husband, William; three children, Pamela (Kenneth) MacArthur, Tamyra Hanson, Eric (Charlene); five grandchildren, Jason (Kimberly) MacArthur, Ryan MacArthur, Sarah (Chase) Barnett, Ericha (Aaron) Diegel, and Shannon Hanson; 11 great-grandchildren, Vince, Troy, Kendall, Gabe, Ben, Eli, Gracelyn, Ella, Abby, Blake, Luke,; and brother, Allen (Anne) Haltiner. She is preceded in death by both parents and much-loved grandmother, Rosie Smith, her sister, Lucille, and her great-grandson, Trevor.

Friends and family will gather from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at McWilliams Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at TriPoint Church of God 500 S. Brooke St., Alpena, MI 49707, on Thursday, June 28, at 11 a.m. with visitation preceding at 10 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to TriPoint Church of God Alpena.
