Jeffrey Louis Wilkey, 66, of Alpena, left the bonds of this earth to his heavenly home on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Jeff was born Oct. 11, 1951 in Mt. Vernon, Ill. to the late Fred and Kathryn (Bonhan) Wilkey and has been a resident of the Alpena area for the last 18 years. He traveled back and forth to Gaylord for seven years where he preached every Sunday at a nursing home. He was an interior and exterior house painter and a pastor for the last nine years at Pentecostals of Alpena Church. Jeff spent many hours remodeling the entire church. His passion was the church and the people he met. He enjoyed the game of golf, but there were no questions about Jeff’s priorities and loves; his God, his family and his church. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered for a man of God that would challenge us to grow in our faith.

Surviving are his loving wife of almost 13 years, Teressa; two children, Bryanna (Collin) Beyer of Alpena, Matthew (Erin) Wilkey of Virginia; two step-children, Crystal Ramsey, Dustin (Kim) Wood both of Arkansas; seven grandchildren Molly and Amelia Beyer, Layla, Aiden and Andrew Wilkey, Nicholas Ramsey, Addison Wood; two sisters, Vickie (Eddie Godwin, Debbie (Gary) Lockwood both of Mississippi; two brothers, Nathan (Tammy) Wilkey of Mississippi and Jack (Melanie) Wilkey of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by a brother, Freddy Wilkey.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Hammonds officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Pentecostals of Alpena. Online condolences may be registered at
