ELAINE ARDITH BEAUCHAMP

Elaine Ardith Beauchamp, 86, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 19, at Jessie’s Place, AFC Home.

Elaine was born on March 27, 1931, to Merritt and Violet (Gusler) Reece in Phillipsburg, Kan. The family made their way to the Alpena area. Elaine worked at Frasier’s (a carpet factory). She later worked at the Fletcher Paper Mill for 17 years, before retiring to Zephyr Hills, Fla., with the love of her life, Raymond Beauchamp, who preceded her in death in 1991. Elaine volunteered for 15 years at Pasco County Hospital, and was recognized as one of their top volunteers. Elaine was a member of the Alpena VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2496 for many years. She enjoyed volunteering and giving her time to the home bound, at St. Bernard Church.

Elaine is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Morgan of Alpena, Mich., and Dorothy (Tim) Kent; her step-children include Arthur, Austin and Raymond Beauchamp and Judy Kotwicki. Grandchildren include Brian Morgan of Alpena, Kathryn Carmack of Kentucky, Todd (Melissa) Morgan of Clinton, Mich., Kevin (Mary) Kent of Essexville, Mich., and Benjamin (Emily) Kent of Marquette, Mich. Elaine is survived by a brother, Arlyn (Patricia) Reece of Millington, Mich., and two sisters, Algene Gruschke, of Alpena, and Dixie (Wes) Snider of Brutus, Mich. Her brothers Leon, Wayne, Theron, and Eldon preceded her in death. Elaine and Raymond had over 30 grand and great grandchildren.

Elaine has been taken for cremation from McWilliams Funeral Home in Alpena. Elaine will be laid to rest next to her husband Raymond in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
