Edward Lee Grove, 86, of Herron passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 9, 2017, at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena from a fall at his home.

Ed was born on Oct. 19, 1930, to Martin and Erma (Woodrum) Grove of Columbus, Ohio. He served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. He was a lifetime member of Beaver Lake Church. He married his wife Lucille (Eagle) Grove, of 61 years, on Sept. 15, 1956.

Ed is survived by his wife, Lucille; three sons, Thomas (Koni) Grove of Alpena, Jerry Grove of Ossineke, Michael (Renee) Grove of Curran; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jane Grove, Julie Grove; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Grove was preceded in death by his son, Dean; granddaughter, Trisha; infant great-grandson, Bradley Kolnowski; three brothers, Warren, Larry, Joseph; three sisters, Louise Grove, Florence Woods, and Ruth Cuvillier.

Visitation will take place Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Beaver Lake Community Church from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dan Williams officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
