William Charles Kaschner, 78, of Lincoln passed away Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena.

William was born Nov. 9, 1938, in Alpena to the late Avold and Mildred (Werth) Kaschner. William served in the United States Army from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1961. On Sept. 29, 1962, he married Marlene Schultz. He worked at Besser Company from 1957-1978 and then Omni Metalcraft until his retirement in 2004. Bill was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, the Moose Lodge and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Marlene; two children Alan (Kimberly) Kaschner, Renee (James) Kelly; two grandchildren, Lauren (Karl) Larsen and Shawn (Kristanna) Kaschner; and brother, Wayne (Helen) Kaschner.

Mr. Kaschner was preceded in death by his brother, Chuckie Kaschner.

Mr. Kaschner is at Hope Lutheran Church where visitation will take place on Monday from 4-8 p.m. and continue Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Randy Conley officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
