JANICE I. ADRIAN

Janice I. Adrian, 87, of Alpena, went to be with Her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 21, 2017, at home, surrounded by her family.

Janice was born in Moltke, Mich., on March 12, 1930, to the late Edward Sr., and Ida (Schaedig) Karsten. She graduated from Traverse City School of Nursing as an LPN. On Aug. 25, 1956, she married Arthur Adrian. Janice was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Hobbs Homemakers group for over 50 years. She loved to sew, as many in Alpena can attest to, from simple mending to the more complex of making clothes for her family. In her later years she started quilting and attended to her beautiful garden of flowers and vegetables, including canning the wonderful bounty of her garden. She took great pride in her house but at the very top of her list was her family.

Surviving are her loving husband of almost 61 years, Arthur; three children, Susan (Micheal) Schultz, Robert (Cheryl) Adrian, Jodi (Alan) Glomski all of Alpena; 11 grandchildren, Catie (Travis) Kaiser, Matthew (Katie) Adrian, Todd Adrian, Kelli Adrian, Jana Adrian, Andrew Glomski, Owen Kaiser, Hope (Michael) Edwards, Chance (Tara) Glomski; two great-grandsons, Eli Arthur Witulski, Rex Glomski; and two sisters, Ruth Grossman of Rogers City and Darlene (Gordon) Cordes of Hillman. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Edward Karsten Jr. and Howard Karsten.

Janice Adrian is at McWilliams Funeral Home – Alpena where friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and on Monday, July 24, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Erickson officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran School or the Alpena Cancer Center.
