Gerald “Jerry” R. Leginza, 78, of Presque Isle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

Jerry was born Aug. 21, 1938 in Detroit to the late Peter and Jane (Cisek) Leginza. On Aug. 28, 1993 he married Judy Heath, retired from the Chrysler Corp. and established their residence in Presque Isle. He was a member of the Elf Khurafeh Temple and the Alpena Shrine Club, where he served as president in 2001 and was a Shrine Hospital driver. Jerry was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife, Judy; daughter, Terri (Joseph) Bevolo; sons, Gary Leginza, James (Meaghan) Leginza; step-sons, John (Chastidy Maleskey) Heath, Kenny (Brittany Rondeau) Heath; five grandchildren Andrea Bevolo, Katie Leginza, Nicholas Leginza, Andrew Leginza, Claire Leginza; and a brother, James Leginza.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday at McWilliams Funeral Home-Alpena from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Anne Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. with Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating. Inurnment will at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Chicago Shrine Hospital, the K of C 4th Degree Chalice Fund or the Alpena Cancer Center.
