Thomas Richard Lewandowski, 78, of Alpena passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at Turning Brook Assisted Living.

Thomas Richard Lewandowski was born in Alpena on July 12, 1938 to the late Stephen and Julia (Zwolinski) Lewandowski. He married Bernardine “Bernie” Budnik on June 10, 1961 in Posen at St. Casimir Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2003. He worked as a driver for UPS for over 30 years, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, stamp and coin collecting, gold panning, astronomy, gardening, model trains, bird watching. He was also a Detroit Tigers and MSU Spartans fan.

Surviving are three children, Sue and Brent Taylor, Stephen and Alicia Lewandowski, Sandy Wachowski; seven grandchildren, Aliciamaria, Thomas and Anthony Lewandowski, Zachary and Katie Soo Taylor, Samuel and Theo Wachowski; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Kathryn Lewandowski; three sisters, Geri Misiak, Joan (Leon) Budnik, Linda (Greg) Mullins; two brothers, Ron (Joyce) Lewandowski, Art (Sharon) Lewandowski; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lewandowski is at the Bannan Funeral Home where visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Wednesday at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish from 11 a.m. until time of mass of Christian burial at 12 noon with Rev. Joseph Muszkiewicz officiating.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
