First Federal/mBank foundation funds Rockport Triathalon, boat launch
The First Federal/mBank Community Foundation recenlty donated $1,000 to the Friends of Rockport/Besser Natural Area in support of its XTERRA Rockport Rugged Triathlon. The XTERRA Rockport Rugged Triathlon is Northeast Michigan’s first off-road adventure triathlon featuring the unique terrain of Rockport State Recreation Area.
The Friends group began the XTERRA program in 2016 as a way to bring awareness to Michigan’s most unique state park.
The race is also used to raise funds to assist the NDNR with park infrastructure improvements that enhance the ability to host education and recreational opportunities.
The foundation also announced a recent donation of $1,000 to the Brownlee Lake Association last week to assist the Village of Lincoln in replacing their community boat launch.
Headquartered in Alpena, Michigan, the First Federal/mBank Community Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to serving community activities and nonprofit organizations in the Greater Alanson, Cheboygan, Gaylord, Lewiston, Mio, and Alpena areas.
