MSP seeks public’s assistance

The Michigan State Police Alpena Post, is requesting the public’s assistance in solving the theft of a purse from a customer’s shopping cart at Wal-Mart in Alpena. The theft occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 17, 2017.

The female customer left her purse in the shopping cart after loading her purchases into her vehicle. She pushed the cart into the cart return but forgot to retrieve her purse. Upon arriving at home, she realized she didn’t have her purse so she immediately returned to Wal-Mart. At Wal-Mart, she discovered some one had taken the purse but failed to turn it over to store personnel.

A review of the store’s security surveillance system revealed that another female customer took the purse from the cart after she pushed her cart into the cart return. The female suspect then got into her car and drove away.

The unidentified female suspect is described as an adult white female, brown hair and wearing

eyeglasses, a dark coat and pink V-neck shirt. She was accompanied by an adult white male with black or dark colored hair and beard. After stealing the purse, they drove away in a dark colored 2000s model Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon. The female drove.
