Dec. weather starting mild, November fairly normal
ALPENA — A meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Gaylord said now is the time to enjoy the outdoors before the weather shifts.
“You better enjoy the warmth now. We’re going to be mild for a few more days; highs of 47 tomorrow, Sunday sunny 46, Monday rain,” meteorologist Michael Boguth said.
Everything will dry out Tuesday, then Tuesday night the weather will shift, he said.
“There will be a really big change Tuesday and Wednesday. From that point on it will be winter for at least a week,” he said.
He said snow will be expected.
For the month of November Boguth said there wasn’t too much out of the ordinary.
“November itself was pretty normal except for snowfall 0.5 inches of snowfall. The normal is about 7.7 inches. So you were seven inches down from what twe what were be,” he said.
Boguth said now is the perfect time to take advantage of the mild weather.
“This is the weekend to buy the Christmas tree and hang the Christmas lights and do that last bit of yard work before winter,” he said.
