MSP to hold fifth annual Stuff a Blue Goose on Dec. 9

The Michigan State Police Alpena Post is organizing the fifth annual Stuff a Blue Goose drive to gather toys and non-perishable food items for those in need this holiday season.

The Blue Goose is the Michigan State Police Patrol Car. MSP has long referred to its patrol cars as a “Blue Goose” and the post is hopeful it can stuff them full of unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items.

Troopers will have a patrol car situated at Walmart and Neiman’s Family Market on Dec. 9 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. to gather any donations.

The post’s goal is to gather as many toys and non-perishable food items as possible in an eight hour period.

Donations also can be made prior to Dec. 9 in Alpena at the Michigan State Police Alpena Post, located at 3283 W. Washington Avenue.

All of the toys gathered will be turned over to the Vietnam Veterans of America — Chapter 583 for distribution to families in need in Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency, and Presque Isle counties. Food items collected will be turned over to the Salvation Army in Alpena.
