MidMichigan recognized for community health excellence

MidMichigan Health recently was awarded the Michigan Health Improvement Alliance, Inc., 2016 Community Health Excellence Award. The award was presented during the 8th Annual Health Conference hosted at Saginaw Valley State University.

This is the first year MiHIA has presented the award, which is meant to recognize organizations that have shown outstanding contributions to improving the health status in the 14-county region MiHIA serves in. MidMichigan was specifically recognized for the opportunities it provides both patients and employees to improve their health.

MidMichigan’s employee wellness program includes an onsite fitness center, nutrition counseling, healthy cafeteria options and more.

“We are honored to accept this award on behalf of our employees and patient community,” Sue Lennon, director of employee health and wellness, said. “We strive to provide a healthy environment for our employees, and have many dedicated programs and initiatives in place to do so.”

MidMichigan Health was one of two organizations recognized with the 2016 Community Health Excellence Award.
