Antique and Vintage Snowmobile Show in RC Saturday

ROGERS CITY — Winter is a good season to take a step back in time.

The 13th annual Antique and Vintage Snowmobile Show and Swap will take place this Friday and Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2886, County Rd., Rogers City.

“It’s our thirteenth year, we have people coming as far as Maine,” said organizer Dan Derry.

He added the brand of snowmobile they will feature this year is Polaris.

At noon Friday there will be a vintage ride from the K of C Hall to Millersburg. Derry said it’s about a 21 mile ride. He added they will have a bonfire, hotdogs and raffles as well.

The Antique Snowmobile Club of America will also have its winter meeting later that day, the bar will open at 3 p.m.

From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday the show and swap will take place. The swap fee cost is $10. He added there will also be raffle ticket sales. At 5 p.m. dinner will begin and costs $5 for kids 12 and younger and $12 for adults. The awards will be given out at 5:30 p.m. and the live bands will play from 8:30 p.m.-midnight.

Derry said there will be different kinds of demos (weather permitting) all day Saturday.

“People wise we average about 170. It’s a good sized show for the state, it’s one of the biggest,” he said. “A lot of people started riding these early sleds like that. It’s never died off.”
