Vintage snowmobile show

On Saturday, the Vintage and Antique Snowmobile Show held at the Ramada Inn in Alpena had a great success with those looking and entrants from as far north as the Sault in Ontario Canada and as far south as Akron, Ohio, says Ben Mcclain, organizer. A raffle was held inside the hotel and donated by Alpena businesses to help pay expenses in advertising and trophies. Catagories for Best of show, Sno Jets (from Ontario, Canada); Antique original, 1962 Polaris; Antique restored , 1965 Tom Cat; Muffle sled, 1975 Arctic Cat Z; Club’s Choice , 1974 Chaparal; featured sled, Skidos and Motor Ski’s; Vintage Original, 1980 Exciter; Vintage restored, 1970 Skido Black dot; Best boatmobile, 1973 Johnson; Best cutter combo, 1969 AMS. The event is held every second weekend in January.
