Jean Frances Prevo and Joel Edward Bauer exchanged their wedding vows Jan. 7, 2012 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Alpena. Rev. Gregory P. McCallum officiated the 6 p.m. double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Nelson and Cynthia Prevo of Ossineke. The groom is the son of Roger and Mary Jane Bauer of Alpena.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was her friend, Erica McManus. Serving as bridesmaids were the bride’s friend, Trina Gray, along with the bride’s sisters, Ann Timmreck, Sue Grover, Patricia Divney and Peggy Prevo. Katie Prevo, Maggie Prevo, Alexis Grover and Lindsay Grover, nieces of the bride, served as junior bridesmaids. Serving as flower girl was the bride’s niece, Alaina Grover.

Attending the groom as best man was the groom’s friend, Lee Fitzpatrick. Groomsmen were his friends, Chris Carlson, Tait Fletcher, Matthew Gillard, Ryan O’Donnell and Tony Skiba. Serving as ring bearers were the bride’s nephews, Raymond and Brenden Divney.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at St. Anne’s Parish Hall. Pre-nuptial parties included a rehearsal dinner at the home of Roger and Mary Jane Bauer.

Jean is a 1994 graduate of Alpena High School and a 1997 graduate of Alpena Community College. She is employed by Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary and Bay Athletic Club. Joel is a 1990 graduate of Alpena High School, a 1994 graduate of Michigan State University and a 2001 graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He is a partner at Gillard, Bauer, Mazrum, Florip, Smigelski & Gulden, Attorneys at Law.

The couple traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for their honeymoon and are residing in Alpena.
