Ladies Eagles Auxiliary to help with meal
Alpena Ladies Eagles Auxiliary #1241 held a regular meeting Nov. 14 with President Diane Struzik presiding.
Guest speaker at the meeting was Stan Wahoo, who announced there will be a free Thanksgiving dinner at the aerie for the public who have no place to go. Members were asked to contact the aerie and help out to make the dinner successful for all. Contact Linda Fairchild, who is on the social committee.
A report was given on the District 8 meeting held Nov. 5 at the Gaylord Aerie. The auxiliary won the traveling trophy. Table prizes were won by Jeanne Polluch, Mary Zawacki, Pat LaHaie, Gere Romel and Diane Struzik. The next District 8 meeting will be held in March 2018.
A list is at the aerie for any auxiliary members who want to attend the Christmas dinner on Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. Those planning to participate must sign up before Dec. 9.
At the last meeting, Past President Diane Marchlewski’s name was omitted. She has been a member for 25 years and was also honored.
Chrisy York won the dues but she was not present to accept them. Pat LaHaie won attendance. Kathy Crawford won the mystery prize. She and Gere Romel won the doors prizes. Table prizes went to Ruth Werda, Debbie Whitus, Debbie Vanwagner, Gere Romel, Mary Zawacki and Kathy Crawford.
The next regular meeting will be held on Nov. 28 with a 6 p.m. potluck.
