Lions hear from Andrew Kowalski
Andrew Kowalski, financial adviser with Edward Jones of Alpena, was the speaker at the April 2 Alpena Lions Club meeting. He spoke about how individuals should do their financial planning in the United States these days.
Program chair for the meeting was PDG Dave Zeller.
Ten rules to follow, Kowalski outlined, include: (1) Develop a strategy, (2) Learn about risk, (3) Establish your goals, (4) Stick with quality investments, (5) Invest for the long term, (6) Have realistic expectations, (7) Maintain your balance, (8) Prepare for the unexpected, (9) Focus on control, (10) Review your overall strategy regularly.
He noted that planning for required distributions at age 70-1/2 always causes folks to consult with their financial advisors these days.
