Healthy Connections seminars starting up
A monthly Healthy Connections seminar will address a variety of topics related to healthy cooking and nutrition. Sessions will be held on the first Thursday of each month, starting Sept. 6 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church Fellowship Hall, 4029 US-23-S.
All are invited to come and learn principles that will improve health and vitality. This eight-part series is appropriate for those who aren’t sure how to start improving their diet as well as those who already have experience with healthful meal planning and preparation.
Each evening will include a nutrition lecture, free home cooked food samples, cooking demonstrations, shopping tips and a drawing for free gifts. Participants will learn how to use lifestyle changes to better their health.
The seminar will be facilitated by Sharon Szynkowski, a physical therapist and health educator. Szynkowski has been presenting community health and wellness seminars for 20 years and has a particular interest in lifestyles health and natural remedies.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged to reserve a place in the seminar. Registration will be accepted at the door. There is no fee to attend and there will be no product sales, but free-will donations will be accepted. To pre-register or for more information, call 989-356-2932.
The first series topic will be “Twin Errors of the American Diet.” The cooking demonstration and food samples will highlight “Better Breads and Spreads.”
